Unless you're a once-in-a-generation mutant, which most of us, Harrison included, are not. Perhaps the generic drooler with reader aspirations can be cajoled into some form of sanity by pointing out that there is no art and no profession, in which at 85 you’re way better than when you were 35 or 45 or 55 or even 65. ![]() Pointing out that works produced by people in their 80’s and their 90’s should be judged by different standards will likely overtax the more fragile minds. ![]() I see a lot of reviewers unable to grasp the concept that people in general and writers in particular are not at the same level of capacity at the age of 85 as they were at the age of 35. ![]()
